Lutz Kaufmann holds the Herbert Quandt Endowed Chair for International Management and leads the Asia Center at the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU). During his guest professorship at CEIBS in Shanghai, he conducted a number of pilot interviews and thus enhanced the research model used in this book. He is also co-founder of Narvardo, Frankfurt and San Francisco, and board member of the automotive supplier Veritas AG, Gelnhausen.
Dirk Panhans is research assistant and Ph.D. student at the Chair for International Management at WHU and management consultant at the Asia House of McKinsey & Company. He developed the research model of international expansion strategies and thus contributed mainly to the conceptual basis of this book. He went to college at the Handelshochschule Leipzig (HHL), the INSEAD in Fontainebleau, École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) and the University of Bayreuth.
Boney Povan is a consultant at the Munich office of McKinsey & Company. During his work at the Chair for International Management at WHU, he conducted numerous interviews with heads of German affiliates in China and India and thus contributed mainly to the empirical basis of this book. Before that, he was student at WHU, the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU).
Benedikt Sobotka is a consultant at the Munich office of Boston Consulting Group. During his work at the Chair for International Management at WHU, he conducted numerous interviews with heads of German affiliates in China and thus contributed mainly to the empirical basis of this book. Prior to that, he studied Business Administration at WHU, the Rotterdam School of Management (RDM), the Finance Academy Moscow and the University of Cologne.
