"sketchbook made in prison" is created by Eric Anderson. He's on death row in San Quentin Prison, California.
He was a tattoo artist on the streets. In this sketchbook you will see a number of his styles, such as tattoo art which is bold and outlined in black. He also added prison and biker motifs, things like skulls, ghouls in the smoke…they are all common motifs in this type of art.
Eric… also included some animals done in realistic style.and you will notice there are a few examples of phoenixes he has done. He has a fondness for them because of their symbology and the myth about them.
Since Eric is on death row it isn't that easy to just create art. He has no table and no chair; pens are rare and he needs stamps and envelopes to send his artwork out. He can neither use a computer nor a bunch of magazines to get some inspiration. All the things he writes, draws, paints, and sketches he does almost solely just by pure imagination. Despite he has to live so isolated he's so creative and tries to make the best.
"sketchbook made in prison" is Eric's third book. He is also a talented author that writes thrilling short stories. His first book is called "short stories from death row" and the second ".even more short stories from death row". Both anthologies are exciting to read and also include as additional bonus some prints of his artwork.
"sketchbook made in prison" is printed on high-grade brilliant paper. The book includes colored sketches as well as black and white illustrations. Additionally, Eric commented some of his sketches in an appendix. Also, it's a hardcover and more robust for often use.
