This first attempt at a phenomenology of Female Genius originates in the biography of Vittoria Colonna,the Female Genius of Italian Renaissance. As a matter of fact the phenomenon of Female Genius has never been researched, let alone defined, but is still regarded as a Myth, a Feminist Phantasm, a Phantom.
Ergo: The Phenomenon of the Female Genius must be substantiated.
How? By essentialising… Common Features of Genius Women.
The fact that no clarifying definition of Femal Genius exists, has contributed to a conceptual confusion smothering the Phenomenon of Female Genius.
Excelling in outstanding positions is not enough. Women staking out their claims in male occupations, aeroplane pilots or ministers of defence are no female geniuses but SHE-MALES, who are only stiving after equality with men but do not improve the world from a female perspective as female geniuses aim at.
Female Geniuses will cooperate with male Geniuses in congeniality, as Michelangelo and Vittoria Colonna did.
Or they position themselves in independence from and in opposition to male predominance, challenging male dogmatism, typical of male intellectuals. Female Geniuses will try to correct the life-denying artefacts of Homo Faber, measuring them by the dynamics and fullnes of life, whose protection they regard as ther foremost feminine task, which,perhaps biologically conditioned, has been confided to women since primordeal times.
Genius women did not objectify their creative ideas as men did. They cannot boast of inventions nor of construing systems nor of conceiving ideologies that changed the world for the better or worse, perhaps for the simple reason that men did not let them do so.
All genius women are Solitary Heroines working in self-imposed isolation, spurred on by female intuition. As they were not allowed to realize themselves, they took their pens and created imaginative lively female worlds in contrast to rigid artefacts of Homo Faber.
