In the beginnings of Early Christianity we know of only two collections of Christian texts to which the title "New Testament" was given - one from around the middle of the second century, credited to Marcion of Sinope, and the other well known created from around the time of Irenaeus of Lyon towards the end of the same century.
The Greek text of the 10-letter collection of Paul (with German… translation), which the Church Fathers witness to have been part of the 'New Testament' of Marcion of Sinope, is reconstructed here for the first time.
In volume 1 of the detailed introduction, this collection is compared with the 14-letter collection of Paul, which can be found in the canonical New Testament, and compared to the latter is shown to be the older one.
ln volume 2 and 3, the reconstructed Greek text is given, set parallel to the canonical text of the ten letters, with apparatuses to the early church witnesses and the significant variants, supplemented with a short commentary on the content of individual sections of the letter and a verse-by-verse lexicographical analysis.
