Howard Giles is Distinguished Research Professor in Communication at UC Santa Barbara. He Is recipient of numerous Honors, Fellowships (e.g., Royal Society of Medicine) & Awards, including 3 book Awards & 3 Awards named after him and Inaugural Productivity Award (2000) from ICA (of which he is Past President), & Founding Editor of two journals. In 2022, he was selected as a "Rising Star" of the Association for Psychological Science. He received his PhD in Communication from Stanford University. David E. Clementson is an associate professor in Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. He is recipient of two Top Paper awards at ICA and the Best Paper Award from the International Association of Language and Social Psychology. He received his PhD from The Ohio State University.
