A lo largo de los siglos XX y XXI ha habido allí muchos padres que educan a sus hijas para ser prostitutas y a sus hijos para… traficar con ellas. En 2001 fue descubierta la red de los hermanos Julio, Tomás y Luciano Salazar Juárez, quienes llevaban años secuestrando a jóvenes mexicanas para obligarlas a prostituirse en Tijuana y en los “campos del amor” cerca de las plantaciones de fresas de SanYsidro, California. La historia que esta obra en verso cuenta surge de estos hechos. Lo demás, juzgue o no el lector, es ficción. ENGLISH DESCRIPTION El Chino and Salvina leave from Tenancingo to cross the border and fall into the clutches of El Gringo. Once on the other side, the men are sent to work in the strawberry fields and the women are forced into prostitution. Salvina is one of his favorites. Every so often, he sleeps with her and gives her permission to spend nights with El Chino, who turns out to be good at business. So El Gringo loosens the reins little by little and brings him on board along with his cousin Luciano, until they gain his trust and then kill him. But El Chino and Luciano are not any better than El Gringo; they keep up his business and the shady treatment of the immigrants who cross the border. They open a nightclub and traffic women, all with the same cruelty that they faced when they arrived. This is a novel written in poetic form, full of betrayal, vengeance, and honor, in which the characters negotiate all types of obstacles that reflect the reality of our time.
