He was a Baptist pastor and one of the most influential preachers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of forty books, Meyer also preached approximately 16,000 sermons, and thousands came to Christ through his ministry. He served as pastor of Christ Church in London and later became a key leader in the Keswick Convention, a religious movement that emphasized total surrender to God, purity, and devotion to Christ.
