Beschreibung
This is a book you can't put down once you've started it, yet it's not a novel, but more than a novel, it's enthralling and engaging. It's a book for everyone, for children and adults, for students and parents, teachers and academics. It's an inexhaustible source of inspiration. This precious testimony that Leonard Covello left us of a life spent nearly half a century as a teacher and high school principal in America is not only tied to times, places, and cultures, but transcends them, imposing itself with a contemporary character everywhere in the world. He represents what young people seek and need: a guide, a Maestro, not just a Teacher. And for a Maestro to exist, human qualities are needed, not just a sum of knowledge to impart. There must be a heart that inspires children to learn through their emotions, rather than - as Covello says - "hammering" lessons into their heads.
