What is presented here is not a review of the heroic exploits accomplished by the 1901-1927 American cohort into which that boy was born. Much has been written about those. Rather, Lest We Forget brings to bear a case of cause and effect, one that addresses the question regarding how it was that they could rise to such greatness when generations since then evidently cannot. In the end, the book offers a path to begin turning the slide of American generational distinction back to that which was last seen in those whom we refer to as the Greatest Generation.
