In this essay, the German sociologist Prof. Rudolph Bauer analyses the interaction between capitalism, state and war. Political economy examines the interactions between economics and politics. Following Karl Marx's critique of political economy, political economy analyses the crisis-like effects of capitalist economy. And these effects require state action, which means war. The crisis-related… state action is first reflected in the militarisation of society, then in the transition of the economy to a war economy, as well as in the gradual transformation of the state into a police and military state. The war economy and military state end in war, which results in warlike destruction and inhumane consequences: dead, injured, traumatized and displaced people and refugees. The criticism of political economy names the real economic and financial crises of the capitalist profit and speculative economy as structural, systemic causes of war. 1. Reference is made to the knowledge of domination and the propaganda-psychologically constructed narratives of the enemy. 2. Reference is made to the connection between the wars and the economic and financial crises in countries with capitalist relations of production. 3. Stagnation and fall in the rate of profit are mentioned as the real basic problem of the Western economic system. 4. The result is preparation for war and 5. War-economic conditions of production. 6. There is a theoretical explanation of the various types and requirements of surplus value production as a source of profit, as well as explanations of the subsumption of man and production under capital and its laws of exploitation. 7. The empirical correspondences of the theoretical justification of wars are described by way of example. 8. Attention is drawn to the fact that the war economy regime is accompanied by the intensification of political, police, legal, digital and social repression by the military state.
