Our world is becoming global and interdependent village, with increasing contacts between peoples and governments. In this global village, there is a growing awareness of peoples' responsibilities to each other and to the planet we share. This is encouraging even though so much suffering continues to be inflicted based on greed, prejudice, race, religion, ideology and history.
As humans, we are… afraid to write or talk about prejudice, tribalism, xenophobia, racism, and other aspects of intolerance affecting our society. The process of focusing, debating and constantly evaluating progress made at the level of tolerance, serves to reduce the incidence of prejudices. As children and human beings born into a free and well designed world, we learn many stereotypes that affect our lives either positively or negatively. We do not test these, and many times have no opportunity of doing so. We learn them as facts and behave as if they are the truth. Faced with certain situations, we behave automatically out of these earlier stereotypical learning. Although it is not easy and clearly requires effort, time, and practice, prejudice appears to be a habit that can be broken. Many people appear to be entangled in the difficult or arduous process of overcoming their prejudices.
Colonialism / Imperialism enslaved and left an entire race and continent in prejudice and stigmatised imagery. The interference and manipulation of outsiders have put the life of the nice and tolerant people in misery, leaving the beautiful tolerant black race and its continent at the mercy of some shady, selfish Africans, African leaders and Western mercenaries. The melting African economy, old educational system, negative tribalism, devastating African brain drain, outflow of manpower and voluntary enslavement, and being black and worst black African in the 21st century, is living with racism and discrimination. All these make the journey of millions of other people in this planet very hard. It is natural for all human beings to yearn for freedom, equality and dignity. The rich diversity of race, cultures and religions should help to strengthen fundamental human rights in all communities.
Political, social, cultural and economic status of a society should not obstruct or violate the human rights of others. Therefore, the protection of these rights and freedoms are of immense importance both for the individuals affected and for the development of the society as a whole.
This book analyses dreadful practices of a big number of selfish Africans, the African leadership, greedy Imperial European leaders and their nations. It is a collection of revolutionary ideas, opinions, alternatives, voice of the voiceless, on human struggles and experiences. The Hard Journey's intention is to increase awareness and debates and build bridges between humans. Working towards integrating the elements of positive change that remain isolated from each other “together”, in the spirit and philosophy of equal society. It only requires a small sacrifice, a bit of honesty to keep this beautiful planet for everyone. No matter what country or continent we come from we are all basically the same human beings. We have common human needs and concerns. We all seek happiness and try to avoid sufferings, regardless of our race, religion, sex, social and political status. In fact:
