Her visual appearance was marked by bold presentations of S&M and fetish aesthetics, which also featured in her lyrics and music, e.g. on 'Demonix', a project she realised in collaboration with Mark Ickx of Dutch group A Split Second.
After her involvement in Christian Death, Gitane produced several solo works, including the albums 'Am I Wrong?' and 'Dream Home Heartache' (with former bandmate and Christian Death founder Rozz Williams), as well as collaborations with deathrockers Dreadful Shadows and experimental noise outfit +DOG+.
