Randori-no-kata is a comprehensive work on the basic judo kata, nage-no-kata and katame-no-kata. Jigoro Kano designed these kata, collectively known as randori-no-kata, to develop judokas' competitive skills and deepen their understanding of judo. Nage-no-kata teaches the fundamental principles of throwing techniques, while katame-no-kata focuses on control techniques.
This book presents detailed… execution guidelines based on the latest models from Kodokan and the IJF. Photographs and illustrations help readers grasp the correct execution of each technique. In addition, the book explores the principles behind the techniques and provides practical tips for training and teaching.
Randori-no-kata serves as both a guide and a valuable resource for beginners learning judo kata for the first time, as well as for experienced judo instructors and kata competitors.

Jorma Paasi:
The editoral board of the book included: Staffan Lindgren (6 th dan), Hannu Mustonen (6 th dan), Peter Mickelsson (6 th dan), all international kata judges and Jorma Paasi (3.dan). Paasi is the author and head photographer of the book .He is retired M.Sc. of Technology who started his judo career in 1976. Jorma has been the chairman of the kata commission of Finnish Judo Association since 2017. He is also a national kata instructor and judge and he has published kata manuals on all five competition katas. He has won Nordic Open title in Kodokan goshin-jutsu and several medails in kata competition at Nordic and national level. He is also an award-winning nature photographer.
